Zeit Contemporary Art's 'Joie de Vivre' online exhibit, through May 31, offers beauty and cheer during this uncertain time.
As we come upon two months of lockdown in the US, the reality of our new life has become increasingly sobering. In light of this, Joan Robledo Palop, founder of Zeit Contemporary Art, planned an online selling exhibit of art meant to lift our spirits.
"The only way to survive this is by looking at beautiful art," says Joan Robledo-Palop. "Art helped me to be positive and thought it would have a similar effect on other people."
The artworks of Joie de Vivre, the online viewing room that brings together modern, post-war and contemporary artists, are connected by their vibrant colors, dynamic subjects and portrayal of nature's beauty. Works include Your Beauty and Your Feel, mustard yellow and fire engine red Damien Hirst works speckled with butterfly wings, a charming Alexander Calder abstract titled Dolmens, a rainbow-colored Sam Francis gouache, and a Keith Haring graphic screenprint titled Growing.
